Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept as mailed. Duly seconded and approved. If you do not have an email address listed in the roster, we will continue to mail you your minutes.

Treasurer’s Report: Checking $2,379.66. Savings $2,149.06. Have not yet received race money (approximately $4,750). Chief Short noted that we were not paid for one of Miami races. Chief Lippincott requested dues to be paid by check. Question about when new members should pay their dues. Chief Lippincott will research issue. Discussion about budget committee monitoring budget. Master Chief LaCoursiere asked how much we spent last year for receptions. Chief Lippincott will research.

• Race – Need someone to step up to take over race worker coordination before next race (March?).
• Scholarship – Vice President is committee chair. Reminder that applicants need to send original transcript in unopened envelope.
• Philanthropy – Chief Powell will continue as committee chair. 19-year-old seaman Gonzalez wiped out during hurricane. Motion to give him $200 Navy Federal Credit Union Visa gift card. Duly seconded and passed. Discussion from Master Chief Robertson that since our income seems to be less that we should consider being careful of expenditures. Our $1,000 annual contribution for 2006 was made in December and the Armed Forces Service Center was very appreciative.
• Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported the USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) will be here for Navy League officers’ installation. They arrive January 14^th at berth 29. There will be an All Hands party at Bahia Cabana 1900 on January 14^th. On Sunday, the CO will be at the installation and then that evening, they will move the ship from 29 to 26/27 at 1630. We have been invited to an on board reception beginning 1615, uniform summer whites. We will host a CPO reception at McSorley’s Monday, January 16^th, uniform CPOA shirt and khaki trousers. Received an email from USS Samuel B. Roberts thanking us for the reception.
• 501(3)(c) – Chief Short obtained a copy of the contract we have with the Races and Chief Lippincott needs to send copy of most recent bank statement and balance sheet.
• Initiation – Chief Viggiano chair. Said her CPOA meets same day as ours.

• Boat Parade. Eight members showed up to work the food concession at the Coast Guard station: O’Dell, Balcom, Correia, Neary, Malone, Roy, Short, Lesser. Senior Chief Starr addressed our philanthropy to USCG saying we need to show our support. USCGC Gannet is planning on having a fishing trip for us.

• Request for $300 budget for Leyte Gulf reception January 16^th. Duly seconded and passed.
• Calendar presented for approval. First Thursday of every month except April which will be second Thursday. Motion to accept. Duly seconded and passed.
• Chief Powell purchased a brass placard stand to place our logo on whenever we are in public.
