- Fund raiser suggestion
: The Kiwanis of Central Broward serves fish, grits, hush
puppies, coffee or orange juice for $6 at its monthly fundraiser. Perhaps we could do
something like this on a monthly basis. From breakfasts alone, Kiwanis raised $6,000 last
year. Over the past 30 years, the club has held an annual pancake breakfast raising
$800-$900. The clubs main fundraiser a dinner and dance raised $4,000
to $5,000 per year. As they took on more projects, they decided they needed more money and
began the monthly breakfasts. They take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. the fourth Saturday
of each month at West Ken Lark Park in Fort Lauderdale, 1321 NW 33rd Avenue.
