of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Special Notes: 2007 Memberships dues should be paid
to Jerry Lippincott as soon as possible.
Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept
February minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved. Reminder - minutes
of all meetings will be posted on our website (http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/).
Treasurer’s Report: Savings balance $2,184.26.
Checking balance $4,081.88. $1,000 outstanding bill due to CPA. Motion to
accept report. Duly seconded and approved.
Committees:
- Race – Chief Short reported next race is in
March but the dates have changed: 22nd, 23rd, 24th.
Will need to make our own reservations with Homestead lodging: 305 258-2330
or 224-7198. Contact Norm Powell if you have any problems getting a room.
- Scholarship – NTR

Philanthropy – Chief Powell
reported that checks had been sent to the Armed Forces Service Center and
the Ship’s Project. Received a thank-you letter from the AFSC.

Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr
reported USS Arleigh Burke will arrive Port Everglades March 16th
with NATO task force included German ship Secher and Royal Navy ship Wave
Runner. Don’t have date yet for reception. Held reception for Gridley mess
which was a tremendous success. Total cost $830. Commissioning great
event. USS Nashville reception held February 13th at Wayward
Sailor. $250 spent. All chiefs had great time. Update for Fleet Week.
Will host Master Chief petty Officer of the coast Guard, Skip Bowden, at our
Chiefs’ reception. Plan to hold at Coral Ridge Yacht Club, May 1st,
Tuesday, 1900 until we get tired. Current list of ships expected: USS
Forrest Sherman DDG98, USS Kearsarge LHD3, USS Gunston Hall LSD44, USS Ponce
LPD15, USS San Jacinto CG56, an attack sub and a Coast Guard cutter.

Navy League –
NTR.
- 501(3)(c) – All requested documents have been
submitted to the IRS for processing. Received FAX from IRS that we need to
amend our Articles of Incorporation to reflect this new status. Articles
files as amended February 23rd and information has been given to
IRS.
- Initiation – NTR

- Motion to fund NATO task force reception with $500.
Duly seconded and approved.
- Motion to fund Fleet Week reception with $1,500. Duly
seconded and approved.
- CPOA website will be overhauled and be more
interactive.
- Chief Viggiano presented Halsey Typhoon book to
Chief Lesser. Gave presentation about goals as vice-president: membership
and attendance. Proposed more get-togethers. Wants to establish
hospitality committee. Also need for other fund raisers.
Good of the Order
- Next meeting April 12th.
- American Idol show has PO3 Phil Stacey this season and
will have Reagan sailor next season.
- USS Kennedy being decommissioned.
- The Bowden’s presented Chief Short with a chef’s hat
and apron.
