CPOA meeting was called to order by the VP Pam at 1931.
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.

President welcomed our new members or returning: NTR

Minutes from the July Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved with revisions.

Treasurer’s Report:

Motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved. 

Committees:

o   Natalie Ann Bostic sent letter thanking the Mess for the award.  

·        Philanthropy – Chief Powell – NTR

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr – NTR

·    Season – HMCS Billini- not present – Juan Ramirez provided information.

     Final night – Boy scout camp 9/28,   Pinning - 9/29

Khaki Ball – Location – Coconut Grove – “Shake a Leg”

2^nd Bowling event with selectees – September 17 @ 1400 – no alcohol allowed

§  7 members from NOSC Miami have RSVP’d. Chuck asked for greater numbers to show from the CPOA.

o   2^nd bowling event September 17 at 1400 – Manor Lanes

o   Holiday Dinner – December 16 at 1800

§  Choice of meat, chicken or fish

§  Tickets $50/pp

§  Cash bar

§  Raffle – $5 each or 3 for $10

§  AJ suggested expanding the raffle to all commands we have contact with.

§  Mike: motion for the CPOA to not provide ANY funding to any local commands unless they produce 3 chiefs to our meetings per month. Seconded open for discussion: Motion did not pass.

§  Valerie Smith – has Dolphin pre-season tickets for tomorrow’s August 11 game against Atlanta.

·        Good of the Order:  

o   Juan Ramirez - August 19, Season family day at the NOSC – all are welcome.
