CPOA meeting was called to order by the President at 1932
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.

President welcomed our new members or returning: NTR

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved with revisions.

Treasurer’s Report: 

Checks outstanding: #1118 - $367.00 : #1119 - 270.00 : #1120 - $218.86

Outstanding deposit 7 checks received today totaling $2,225.00 (not included in totals below)

Checking $ 8,093.63

MM $ 17,001.97

CD $ 15,998.25        

Total $ 41,093.85  

Future bills: DJ for Fleet Week reception - $1,000

Motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved. 

Committees:

Al Starr – April 23^rd start (approx. 100 attendees including partners)

 4 ships are scheduled to participate.

    No flyover scheduled.

    Discussion on inviting coast guard members to fleet week reception. General consensus;
    the lack of reciprocity from the coast guard does not warrant our efforts to continue to invite
    them.

    Paul suggested retirees wear khakis. Discussion.

    Color guard by NRC Miami.

    Upstairs terrace for cocktails

    No plaque exchange with ships
 

·        Fleet Week – Same as Ship’s Liaison

·    Season – HMCS Billini

o   Suggested: Additional bowling event before season.

o   One month season. Marry reserves with active duty. Only admin interaction with Selects before official start date. Final night at boy scout park. Commands will not be working together.

o   Results: July 31

o   Season starts: 21 August

o   Final night: 28 September

o   Pinning 29 September

o   Khaki ball: TBD

·    CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere – Same as Ship’s Liaison

·    VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson – NTR
 

·    MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow (Information by Norm)

o   Fl Panthers game: March 25^th @1700

o   Key West trip: March 17^th – details on the website

o   Margaritaville cruise: May 19-21 – details on the website

o   Bowling night – Date TBD

o   Fleet Week reception - April 25^th

o   Dining In: Not getting the minimum numbers. Have 33 committed but need a minimum of 75.     57 people is breakeven.     If we don’t get to 57 by March 15, it will have to be cancelled. Gary committed to pay for another attendee, Ron Roy donated $100 during the meeting. AJ suggested using the American Legion in Cooper City instead, to lower expenses.

·        Old Business: 

o   Not enough participation for Key West trip.

·        New Business

o   Motion: To have a bowling event with 1st classes before season. CPOA to pay for 1^st classes for this event. Families invited but not paid for.  Dates: proposed June 11, 2023 Duly seconded and approved.

o   Motion: Bowling event with selectees. No partners, CPOA pays for selects.  Dates TBD. Duly seconded and approved

o   Motion to not invite coast guard to the fleet week reception. Duly seconded and approved.

o   Motion to cancel Key West trip. Duly seconded and approved.
