CPOA meeting was called to order by the President at 1933
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.
President welcomed our new members or returning: NTR
Minutes from the March Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved with revisions.
Treasurer’s Report:
Checks outstanding: #1124 - $100.00: #1125 - 60.00 Both to USS NY
Checking $ 8,713.58
MM $ 17,031.82
CD $ 16,053.96
Total $ 41,799.36
Fleet week totals: $15,140 incoming $15,257.18 outgoing for a loss of $117.18
*Loss was covered by Mike Short during the meeting $120.
Motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved.
Committees:
· Awards – Chief Short – NTR
· Scholarship – Chief Tedlow, - NTR
o No applications so far.
· Philanthropy – Chief Powell – NTR
· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr – NTR
· Fleet Week – Same as Ship’s Liaison
· Al Starr – Feedback from Region - “Truly a class event” may not need a guest speaker in the future.
· Al Starr – Coast guard was not invited, only the CMCs from the local commands.
· Season – HMCS Billini-
o RC results: July 31
o AC results: August 21
o Final night: September 26
o Pinning: September 28
o There will be no interaction with RC until AC is engaged.
· CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere – NTR
· VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson – NTR
· MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow (Information by Norm)
o Margaritaville cruise out.
o June 11bowling event – 1st classes Manor Lanes
o 2nd bowling event TBD
o NRC Family Day July 9th beginning at 1000. Invited by Juan.
· Old Business:
o Juan: Dining in, raised $1400. Fun time 30-40 showed up.
· New Business - NTR
· Good of the Order:
o Scuttlebutt: Fleet Week may be moving to Miami.
o Miami Dade Military Museum – recognized Robert Serratt 103 yrs. old.
o Billi – thanking all for coming to the pinning ceremony.
