CPOA meeting was called to order by the Pres Billi at 1933.
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.

President welcomed our new members or returning:

          YNC Matt Woods – NRC Miami – New member

          HMC Daniel Vetan – NRC Miami – New member

          NCC Tyler Cates - NRC Miami – New member

Minutes from the September Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: 

Checks outstanding: $400 Tropical Acres Check 1132 (Same as last month)

Checking $5,115.91

MM $17,106.92

CD $16,194.54

Total $38,417.37

Committees: 

 

·        Awards – Chief Short – NTR

·        Scholarship –

o   Thank you card from Kayley McGovern – recipient.

·        Philanthropy – Chief Powell –

o   Get well cards were sent to:

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr –

USS Augusta – Port Everglades – Navy League put together a reception.

·        Fleet Week – Senior Chief Starr

·        Fleet Week for 2024 – 07-13 May in Miami. Only 2 ships are scheduled.

·        CWO Atwood attended meeting with committee members. 2025 will be back in Ft. Lauderdale and 2026 will be in New Orleans.

·    Season – HMCS Billini-

     Juan – will approach the NRC CPOA board to allow the retirees to join the NRC Mess at a discounted rate. This way, the retirees can participate in the season.       

·   CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere – NTR

     Given the Fleet Week relocation to Miami, the CRYC will not be sponsoring the Fleet Week Reception in 2024

·   VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson –NTR

·        MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow 

o   Several sporting events were proposed: Nov 2023. Feb, Mar, April - 2024

o   Fishing trip was also proposed for April - 2024

o   Holiday Dinner – December 16 at 1800

§  Choice of meat, chicken or fish

§  Tickets $50/pp  

§  Cash bar

§  Raffle – $5 each or 3 for $10 7 for $20. Billi will have the tickets

·        Saber 

§  AJ suggested expanding the raffle to all commands we have contact with.

§  White elephant - $25 cap

§  Uniform – Khaki
