CPOA meeting was called to order by Pam at 1930
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.


Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Committees: 

 

·        Awards – Chief Short - NTR

·        Scholarship – Chief Tedlow, - NTR

·        Philanthropy – Chief Powell - NTR

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr – NTR      

·        Fleet Week – Al Starr

o   Miami Dade college is sponsoring along with Broward navy days.

o   Possible venue for CPOA reception at the Miami Dade Military Museum with Dr. Attwood (CWO). Much smaller scale. The question is whether we want to invite other local commands. Theres limited space for around 130 people. Mission BBQ could supply food. Dr. Attwood would coordinate food and refreshments. No alcohol would be permitted. Address: 12460 SW 152^nd Street Miami (Across from the Gold Coast Train Museum).

·        Season – HMCS Billini- NTR

·         CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere – NTR

·      VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson - NTR  

·        MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow (Information by Chuck)

o   Mar 16 Round Up Club and Restaurant – Dancing, food and drink. 9020 W. State Rd. 84.

o   Apr 06 Chief Birthday Bash / CPOA rescheduled Holiday Dinner– American Legion Cooper City.

o   Apr 21 Reef Fishing - $65 per person – 301 Seabreeze Blvd. Times: 0830, 1330 or 1930

o   May 7 – Fleet Week Reception at the Miami Dade Military Museum

o   May 11 – Sailors, marines interacting with Young Marines, NAS Richmond Sea Cadets at Miami Dade Military Museum and Memorial

o   June 8 Lips – drag queen show – TBD

o   TBA – Bowling with Selectees

o   TBA – Weekend cruise on Margaretville of the Seas out of Riviera Beach.

o   TBA – Labor Day Weekend in Key West   

·        Old Business: 

o   Update on new website design. The design is liked. More information and colors, etc. (old minutes) needs to be added before it goes live.

o   T-shirt design

o   NRC Miami “Dining in” March 30 - Diplomat Beach Resort – Sponsored by NRC and inviting CPOA and NTAG (recruiters).
