CPOA meeting was called to order by Pam at 1930
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Checks outstanding: $500 NAS Richmond

Outstanding deposits; None

Asked if anyone received emails from Selects. Only a few. Ron suggested they send an email to Treasurer and Ron will disseminate. He re-emphasized that he wants our involvement. Wants to integrate us with the NRC and the first classes. He’d like for us to offer some of our pearls of wisdom, sharing charge books, etc. John will be here on Saturday for the Change of Command at 1000 and Andrew invited all of us to go.

·      VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson –

VA contacted Chuck for a Marine. The request was $115.15 to pay for electricity. Chuck paid electric bill directly.

·        MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow

o   Navy vs. USF – November 9, 2024

o    

o   Navy Ball – AJ: Possible dates are being considered. The venue has been chosen: Quadomain (Hollywood Beach)

o   Chuck - Holiday Party planning: Tropical Acres commitment. Deposit of $150 has been paid. $50 per person: Chilean Sea Bass or Filet Mignon: Cash bar at the table. December 14, 2024. 1800 for passed Hors D’oeuvres and 1900 for dinner. Raffle 5 for $10 or arm’s length for $20. Gift swap – White elephant max gift value $25. Ron will post form for dinner sign ups on website. Raffle: Saber. Don’t sign up unless you’re willing to pay for the meal regardless if you attend.

Uniform: Khaki or civi’s (CPOA shirt)

·        Old Business:

o   Member dues: New cycle begins in January.

o   Updated website – Pam connected with Vetan. He has not had time to work on the website as he’s cleaning debris from the storm.

·        New Business:

o   Andrew made a suggestion to have a CPOA meeting at the NRC. He wants to wait to integrate the new CO on October 12 and proposes a January meeting at 1630 at the NRC as opposed to March. Motion is not passed at this time as Andrew must first confirm with NRC.

o   Gary motions to buy 3 sabers to raffle off. One for the holiday party and the other 2 for additional raffles throughout the year. Motion seconded and duly approved.

o   Chuck motions to raise the price of the CPOA polo shirts from $20 to $25. Motion seconded and duly approved.

·        Good of the Order:

o   Mike was contacted from the new NASCAR vendor. Andrew was interested in participating.

o   Andrew has a relationship with SEL from Key West and NRC West Palm and wants to do further integration between the Messes.

o   Pam: Billi forwarded: Vetsgiving November 9 at 1600. Ron will post flyer.  

Motion to adjourn: Duly seconded and passed at 2016.
