CPOA meeting was called to order by Pam at 1930.
 
Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence followed by the Sailors Creed.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes Duly seconded and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Fleet week on the horizon currently. No idea what will come in on donations this year from the yacht club. 

Motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved.

o   Fleet Week – Chuck (temporary head)

o   Schedule of events is published on the website

o   Fleet week begins April 22- The Chief’s Reception is April 23 at 1800

o   Uniform – Blue CPOA shirts with khaki pants – retired

o   Active Commands – Khaki’s

·        Season – Andrew: Camp site has been secured. Want to incorporate WPB, SouthCom, and NTAG. Khaki ball is slated for September 20, 2025.

·         CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere –

·      VA Liaison – BMCM Chuck Robertson – None

·        MWR – HMC Rick Tedlow: Mystery dinner and fishing is live on the website. Fishing $50 for military.  The mystery dinner is about $200.

·        Fishing evolution – possibly for May 18.

·        Murder Mystery train ride – TBD – Rick Tedlow will look into it.

·        Bowling evolution – TBD: Possibly a Sunday in May for all first classes. One event with the first classes and one with the Selectees has been presented to NRC Miami. We await confirmation from NRC leadership.  With the selectees it will be in July but possibly on Saturday. Talking to the lead and chair about selectees doing this. 

·         

o   Navy Ball – AJ: Matt helped vet several other venues. The costs continue to be higher than at the location originally sourced. More to follow. Matt suggested summer months are less expensive to book events at most venues. He will continue to help the committee.

·        Old Business:

o   Payment of Dues for CPOA need to be paid.

o   Updated website – Pam- Daniel Vetan. : He has the new updates on his laptop. Will send Pam the link to view. Has to update to make it current. Should be forwarding to Pam shortly.  He has not had time to work on the website as he’ll get to it soon.

o   T-shirts – Gary said he should have something next meeting.  Matt is working on the design.

o   Possible next drill weekend at the NRC – April 5, 2025. Awaiting confirmation from NRC leadership.

o   Life Insurance update:  Gary is requesting they come out to us to present something. Not sure how if it goes for any member or the whole post.

o   Eye glasses @ NSU Health. 

 

·        New Business:

o   Chuck makes a motion to meet at NRC, April 5 at 1500. Was 2nd. Discussion is about moving it to another weekend since Fleet week is at the end of the month. Trying to tie up loose ends. Chuck has already filled positions for the reception. Has a list of the positions and who is holding them. All little pieces are being ironed out, but the big ones are already taken care of. Motion is accepted.

o   Motion to donate to NAS Richmond sea cadets $200 for color guard. They need poles, spears and tops of poles.  Motion was 2nd and passed.

o   Dining in: April 12th, 2025. Dress blues with medals. Location in Aloft Hotel Del Ray Beach. Tickets are $65 pp. Meals, drinks, open bar for 4 hours. 

 

·        Good of the Order:

o   May 17th, Miami Dade Military Museum is the unveiling of the Gold Star Museum.
