New Business: Committees: Finance Committee : BMC ShortMotion made by MMCM (SS) Peschke to use the Budget proposal as a working copy. Second and Passed. Many thanks to the Budget committee for preparing the proposal. Charity Committee: Norm Powell HMC Camagong requested the association donate $400.00 to sponsor the Health Fair on September 10, 2000 at the Reserve Center. Motion was made for $200.00 by HMC Powell, Second by MMCM(SS) Peschke and Passed. Al Starr requested the CPOA donate two flags for the Sea Cadet. One Navy and one US with stands and flag poles. Ken Larson received a quote for $165.00 and $185.00 respectively. Ken Larson made a motion to set a budget of $350.00 for the flags. Second and Passed. We received letters of thanks from the Armed Forces Service Center Miami. Ship Liaison Committee : Al Starr Passed out list of ships schedule. It is Posted on the Web Site. Race Committee: Mike Bagley As a result of May's efforts the Concessionaires are going to move the pioneers out of the Hamburg booth and put us in it for the November Race. This is our major fundraiser for the year and we will need at least 20 people per day. So Please Help Out Budget Committee : BMC Short, QMC Saunders: The budget proposal is listed as follows: Revenue: Dues $ 800.00 Races $ 7,700.00 Total Annual Proj. Income $ 8,500.00 Expenses: Total Annual Proj. Expenses $ 5,900.00 Net Income $ 2,600.00 For a detailed list send an e-mail to ronroy@mediaone.net Miss Wheelchair Event Al Starr is in need of 20 CPO's to volunteer as escorts for the National Miss Wheelchair Pageant being held at the Bahia Mar from Thursday August 10,to Saturday August 12, 2000. Uniform is Summer Whites. The Florida Miss Wheelchair event will be in October on the 8th to the 12th at the Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Uniform is Summer Whites. Call Al Star for Times on these events. Greetings, I am a volunteer aboard the USS Salem CA-139 at the Quincy Mass.) shipyard. I am helping a former Boatswain's mate and his two sons in restoring one of the 5"/38 twin mounts. We are looking for any information we can get on the interior of the mount. We would like to label the major pieces of the mount and show a layout of the crew positions during full operation.
