CHIEF PETTY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION PURPOSE:

To establish within the Naval community of Miami, Fla., a fraternal organization of senior enlisted personnel for the purpose of:

A. Improving the welfare,morale and working relationships of all personal assigned to the Naval community of Miami, Florida, and to improve the functioning of the various divisions by providing all possible assistance and cooperation which can be rendered to the command in carrying out its assigned mission.
B. Passing of useful information to all members.
C. Solving any inter-service, inter-departmental problems on the E-7 through E-9 levels.
D. Providing for the various social activities of the association.

Minutes from the January 2001 meeting.

The meeting was held at the Naval Reserve Center Miami, FL. And was called to order by the President, BMC Bowden at 1640.

The pledge of Allegiance was performed and a moment of silence was observed for our fallen shipmates.

There were no minutes from December due to the Holiday Dinner.

Treasury Report is as follows:

Year end dividends earned are as follows:

Savings: $71.24 Checking: $70.51

Savings: $3675.61
Checking: $5659.17

Total: $9334.78

Outstanding bills are as follows:
$300.00 for the WWII Memorial.

Dues are $20.00 for the first sixty days then $22.00.

$200.00 was donated to a single parent widow that is going into surgery and will be out of work for six weeks.

$200.00 was donated to another single parent family with eight children for food and presents.

USS Eisenhower is in Port.
USS Ratford is having a reception held by the USNL.
USS Austin will have an onboard reception Feb. 6th at 1700. The CPOA offered to host a gathering on Feb. 7th at the PBA Hall at 1930, Dress is Khaki.

Race Committee: Mike Bagley
The November Race brought in approx. $1500.00 to the CPOA. Bravo Zulu to all of those that participated. We need volunteers for the upcoming races at Homestead, which will be the first weekend in March and the First weekend in April. A new vendor is in charge at Homestead and changes are:

We will make 10% after taxes, plus an additional 1% if are inventory is +/- 1%. This means we cannot eat or drink for free, everything is accounted for and NO CHILDREN UNDER 18 ARE ALLOWED.

Volunteers needed is as follows:

Fridays = 12, Saturdays = 18, Sundays = 20

HM1 Rodriguez of 4 FSSG was selected as SAILOR of the YEAR 2000.

Al Starr wanted to thank all outgoing officers.

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 1800. Second and Passed.

CTOCS Starr won the 50/50 and donated it to CTRCS Siler.
