Last month’s minutes: Motion to accept minutes as mailed. Passed

Treasurer’s report: Savings $2,037.55. Checking $9,948.33. $800 check for TV cashed. Net balance as of this evening $11,185.88. $135 in petty cash. Still 15% under estimated annual budget. 33 paid up members. Motion to accept treasurer’s report. Passed

Committee Reports:

Race: Mike Bagley reported next race November 17-18. Will be four-day event. Thanksgiving is following weekend. Needs 30 people per day on Saturday and Sunday. Need 10 people on first day.

Scholarship: Paul reported 2 applications received. Applicants Kirsten kjConatser and Jocelyn Lippincott. Scholarship will be awarded to Jocelyn Lippincott.

Philanthropy: Mike Short spoke about 55" TV set given to Veteran’s home. There were very pleased and appreciative. They need a shelter outside. We will be researching this. Mike will also be looking at PR opportunities.

Ship Liaison: NTR.

Initiation: CTT1 Casucci and CE1 Fox. Active duty list comes out next month. Volunteers needed for committee: Paul, Robbie, Bagley, and Short will work with Tim. August 1st is next meetging. Bagley says he has disks. Pinning will need to be September 21st. July 16th, committee will meet at 7p.m. at VFW.

Finance: Stan reported we are within budget and have 33 paid members.

Bylaws: No report.

Correspondence:

  1. Letter from Ray and Rosie. We miss them.
  2. National WWII Memorial. CPOA had previously passed $300 for donation but maximum allowed is $100 which will be sent.
  3. Information on back pay available to POWs from WWII in Shift Colors.
  4. Legislative update on immediate benefits to retired reservists (see attached).
  5. There will be a national survey of veterans.
  6. The retiree council of Shift Colors seeking new members.
  7. Per DOD, no Cold War Medal.

Old Business

bulletSea Escape Cruise will be about $35 per person. Mike Bagley will have proposed dates at next meeting. Most prefer a Friday night cruise.
