Good of the Order

bulletReceived following email from Nigel Brown, dated Friday May 31, 2002: Last night I arrived back in America. NY airport. The INS checked me out and kicked me out. I’m now in London and heading to NZ to sort it out. I had a letter from the INS that gave me 181 days. This was when doing the Engineering course 18 months ago. I used 2 months and now I’m told that I’m an overstayer and Visa is cancelled. Plus working on red flag boats, he said is a no no with the Visa I have. B1B2. I have bought ticket to Auckland and back to NZ by Wed. For week and then home to see family and friends. Then off to Nice for a look. To all of you in the same line, I hope this doesn’t happen to you but they are looking at everyone with zero policy. This is the worst part. Hand cuffs. Yes I was cuffed and escorted to BA flight past all the public in the waiting area. Felt half an inch tall and hope not to have it happen again. A couple of dollars less in the pocket, but still smiling. All’s well. Secretary’s note: We received this email from Nigel June 7th: Hello all. All has been sorted with Visa and I’m heading back to London on Monday. Amazing what one person says and the next person says the opposite. Has cost me a couple of dollars and a lot of flying time but now have another Visa for 10 years. Cheers, Nigel.

Motion to adjourn. Passed. Meeting adjourned 2045.
