Bylaws: Bob White will be scheduling next meeting. Hope to rewrite paragraphs. Target no later than September to discuss revisions and vote no later than October. Discussed changing name to South Florida CPOA.

Philanthropy: Tim had email from Norm to consider Burn Camp donation. Will get more info on Mickey Dolls that were distributed. Sending letter to Command Master Chief of USS Bulkley. Question about TV. Going to get 36". Suggestion to ask Angel’s wife to be sure to attend December holiday party to read letter and be thanked in person.

Ship Liaison: Thanks to everyone who showed up at Chiefs’ Reception from Al. Provided opportunity for chiefs to discuss issues among themselves. About 250 at Brownies. Wiz spoke that Brownies came off very well despite our lousy job of providing food. Asked who made initial contacts and arrangements. Al said he had made arrangements. Wiz suggested that before we do this again, we negotiate better. Perhaps in future should be a committee of 3 to do better planning. Wiz had second suggestion to do things a little differently. Suggested to get closer to the organizations to get same benefits. Al Starr spoke about arrangements of Navy League. Discussion about getting some public recognition. Jerry felt we should give without expectation of reward or recognition. More discussion about continuing to do business as usual. Do we need a publicity chairman? Ernie Pratt reiterated what Jerry said, that we do things because it is the right thing to do. Wiz said that he will "noodle around" and see if he can come up with some concrete suggestions. USS Arleigh Burke coming. Will be Navy League reception at Trafalgar Tavern. Short thanked Ira, Stan, Ray and Rosie for donating books. We donated 10 boxes of books to the visiting ships during Fleet Week. Several remarks about how great Short’s cooker is!
