Meeting called to order 1739. Pledge and moment of silence.

Introduction of Guests: Jerry Lippincott returned from Russia. CMC Kuttner. Jerry Nydam, one of the founding fathers of CPOA.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Error for North Carolina where Chief Bagley is moving. Motion to accept as sent with corrections. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report / Membership Report. 2 outstanding checks. Checking balance $11,753.49. Savings balance $2,077.44. Motion to accept. Duly seconded and approved.

Committee Reports

bulletRace: October Miami Grand Prix. Actual dates appear to be last weekend of November Nascar race is a ball buster. Chief Short called everyone to task for lack of participation. We will need everyone we can get.
bulletScholarship: Chairman unavailable NTR.
bulletPhilanthropy: Request for Camp Fiesta children’s cancer fund $200. Motion to fund this request. Duly seconded. Discussion about which category to pull this out of. Motion to tabled until new business brought up. Duly seconded and approved.
bulletShip Liaison: NTR
bulletCPO Initiation: Chief Schuchman reported on list. Contacted WPB CMC Cutner and spoke to SouthCom. At this point, only know of one from WPB, an HM1. Senior Chief Walls on duty with HM1 Peron currently. Permenter in Autec. Inman a Seebee from WPB. Still don’t know if there will be an initiation. We are planning on the initiation regardless.
bulletFinance committee: NTR
bulletBylaws committee: Updated to include all of the sea services. That was the major change. (DRAFT Minutes attached to this newsletter.)

New Business

bulletMotion to adjust emergency donations to $1000. This will replenish the fund. This is being taken out of the anticipated surplus. Duly seconded and passed.
bulletDiscussion about the Budget committee. Chief Palfrey asked question about whether we should disband the committee. Chief Lesser explained how it was set up. Chief Palfrey said budget was supposed to have been based on the last 3 years. Would like to review the way our budget committee works.
bulletHoliday Party set for 1st Thursday in December (December 4th) at Grand Palms. Chief Lesser having discussions with them. Suggest that perhaps the association subsidize the tickets. Will report at next meeting.
bulletNFCU question about Jerry Lippincott. Updated our account. Brought up automatic checking but most members seem to feel they wanted to stay in the 20th century.
bulletMotion to spend $200 for Camp Fiesta (previously tabled). Duly seconded and approved.

Old Business.

bulletPresented plaque to Lippincott for being past president.

Good of the Order. Chief Kitchen.change of command, 21 August 1000 Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale. Uniform of the day, summer whites. Still wants to do fishing trip. Boat ride and picnic. July 26th.
