Meeting called to order 1938. Pledge and moment of silence.

Minutes from Previous Meeting: Motion to accept as mailed. Duly seconded and passed.

Treasurer’s Report/Membership Report. Treasurer unavailable. Chief Lesser read from bank statement: $2,091.68 in savings, $11,462.40 in checking, total funds $13,554.08.

Committee Reports

bulletRace: Chief Short informed us that the race is 5 days this time. Volunteers look good if everyone who has signed up shows up. We will meet daily at the Exchange at Homestead Air Reserve Base at 0700. His number is 305-542-4461. Can also contact Chief Palfrey at 954-592-6329. Discussed buying food for the volunteers for breakfast, etc.
bulletScholarship was awarded after last meeting.
bulletPhilanthropy: Have written checks for donation to USCG station Fort Lauderdale and USCG Cutter Gannet for Senior Chief Starr to purchase gift certificates. Wrote check for Chief Tedlow to purchase gift certificates for Reserve Center.
bulletShip Liaison: USS O’Bannon reception for CPOs held at the Field Irish Pub & Eatery. USS Ronald Reagan arriving November 11, 2003. Tour for CPOs will be 1800 on Wednesday, November 12. Uniform of the day for tour is khaki uniform or CPOA shirt. We had originally intended to have a reception for the chiefs but will be unable to host one due to races. Their mess is having a party at Bahia Cabana $22/person. USS Leyte Gulf to arrive December 1, 2003. Motion for reception for their chiefs up to $300 in December pending scheduling. Duly seconded and passed. Sea Cadets going to SEAL reunion, November 8, 2003. Invitation for anyone who wants to go on bus with them.
bulletBylaws: Discussion that changes not yet posted to website. Chief Neary will get with Chief Lesser to make changes to include Associate members as previously discussed.

Old Business

bulletHoliday dinner reminder. Currently only 26 reservations. Have guaranteed 50 to the management.
bulletChief Short researching information for non-profit association status.
bulletSecond call for nominations. Master Chief Fagenbaum declined nomination due to new duty assignments. Chief Roy unable to accept nomination due to not being present. Chief Lippincott nominated for treasurer. Chief Paul nominated for Vice President.

New Business

bulletElections held for 2004 officers. Motion to accept Chief Sturm/Malone team as Secretary by acclamation. Duly seconded and passed. Ballots distributed for all other offices. Senior Chief Herrera elected to office of Treasurer. Chief Tedlow elected to office of Vice President. Chief Powell elected to office of President. Congratulations to all.
