Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order 1939. Pledge and moment of silence.
Announcements: Had display of the many plaques and photos from Fleet Week.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting: Motion to accept as sent. Duly seconded and
approved.
Treasurers Report/ Membership Report. $2,104.81 savings, $10,656.63 checking,
$44.00 cash, $12,805.44 total. Discussion. Motion to accept. Duly seconded and approved.
Committee Reports
- Race Have not yet been paid for Lundys.
- Scholarship
no applications have yet been received. Motion to amend fund to
allow it be used for advanced degrees. Discussion moved to new business. Consensus that we
should not amend rules if we dont have an applicant. Motion withdrawn.
- Philanthropy
Chief Tedlow read letter from Armed Forces Service Center. Noted
that Edna was killed in a car accident. Chief Lippincott spoke about Edna. Gift and letter
from USS Vicksberg. Card from Anita Nitsche acknowledging our gift. Discussion about Coast
Guardsman Bruckenthal killed in Persian Gulf. Request to consider appropriate gift in his
memory. Boy Scout Troop 007 asked for a donation. Chief Lippincott requested consideration
for Navy Memorial to add sailors recently killed.
- Ship Liaison
Senior Chief Starr spoke about reception during Fleet Week. We
have never been invited to participate in the official Ships Greeting. This year, we
were and Chief Powell presented each ship with a book inscribed from us. Our reception for
the Chiefs was a huge success. We were able to negotiate free parking and reduced prices.
The restaurant owners were so pleased they have promised to do even better for us next
year.
- CPO Initiation
Master Chief Robertson needs disk. Unknown at this time number
of new chiefs.
Old Business
- 501(3)(c) Attorney has submitted incorporation papers to the State. We are
waiting on final approval.
- Coins
currently purchasing additional. Senior Chief Starr can request coins
to give to the CMC of visiting boats.
- Uniforms at receptions
Master Chief Robertson wanted to wear khakis to
reception. Discussion.
New Business
- Motion to obtain plaque to present to Armed Forces Service Center in memory of Edna.
Duly seconded and passed.
- Discussion about need for letterhead. Will send to Chief Short to obtain pricing.
- Mini-boot camp for Sea Cadets at Camp Owasabara in Homestead.
- Coast Guard initiation next Friday. Uniform of the day is khaki or equivalent. Pinning
at Marriot on 17th Street.
