Meeting called to order 1933. Pledge and moment of silence.

Introduction: Welcome back to Jack. Guest Major Jose Miranda, JROTC instructor at
Hialeah Lakes High School.
Special Thanks: Thanks and appreciation expressed for support given to Chief Powell
on the passing of his mother-in-law, Senior Chief Starr on the passing of his
father-in-law, and Master Chief Fagenbaum on the passing of his father.
Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept as sent. Duly seconded and
approved.
Treasurers Report: Treasurer unavailable for report.
Committees
- Race Next race is March 4th, 5th, and 6th.
- Scholarship
New requests are coming in.
- Philanthropy
Give birthday and anniversary information to Chief Tedlow.
Veterans home on 27th Avenue can also use some help from us. Suggestion to
support them with donation of NA beer for holidays.
- Ship Liaison
Senior Chief Starr noted our secretary inducted as
vice-president of the Broward County Council of the Navy League on board the Caribbean
Princess. Several CPOA members attended. Also spoke about the USS Leyte Gulf onboard
reception and CPO reception at Post 3566 in Miami. Thanks to Chief Neary for arranging.
Tremendous hospitality. Fleet Week will be the last week in April. Master Chief Robertson
again brought up wearing khakis for receptions. Cutter Gannet change of command will be
May 27th.

Received request from CPA handling application for additional
information because IRS has changed a few of the requirements. Secretary and Treasurer
will submit required information. Secretary will submit State form required. Need
dissolution clause in bylaws, written conflict of interest policy, qualifications and
average hours worked for each officer, details on Homestead race, and financial data
including 2004 income/expenses, copy of December 2004 bank statement, and estimate of
income/expenses for 2005 and 2006.
Old Business
- Meeting dates revision All meetings except the May meeting will be the first
Thursday of each month. The May meeting will be on the second Thursday. The dates for
upcoming meetings are as follows: 3/3, 4/7, 5/12, 6/2, 7/7, 8/4, 9/1, 10/6, 11/3. The
December meeting will be our holiday party.
New Business
- Request for formal picture of association members be taken at next CPOA holiday party.
Will research.
- Major Miranda spoke about his program. Has had about 5000 cadets, many receiving
recognition. Discussion. Motion to sponsor with a plaque, not to exceed $50 each, for 2
students interested in the sea services. Motion amended to include leadership skills with
outstanding leader chosen from officer corps and enlisted corps as chosen by the
commanding officer. Duly seconded and passed.
