Meeting called to order 1930. Pledge and moment of silence.

Special Announcements: Remarks about the impact of Hurricane Wilma.
Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept as mailed. Duly seconded and
approved.
Treasurers Report: Savings balance $2,144. Checking balance $4,537.
Committees
- Race Chief Short reminds everyone that the November races are our primary
fund raiser. We need volunteers!!! Need names no later than Friday, November 11th.
Need 20 people for Saturday and Sunday. Discussion about how difficult the night races
will be for us. Chief Powell has been in communication with Homestead Inn. Call
305-776-8851 to volunteer. Motion to reimburse Chief Bagley for his flight this year. Duly
seconded and approved.

Chief Schuchman is in contact with Chief Viggiano researching
bona fide relief efforts. This was tabled at last months meeting. Senior Chief Starr
noted that we might need to take care of those closer to home since Hurricane Wilma.
Senior Chief Starr has volunteered to chair a committee to look into this. Chief Cohen and
Chief Short volunteered to assist. Will be looking for needy or displaced sea service
personnel. No funds have been allocated for this; pending need.
- Ship Liaison
USS Bradley reception held October 2nd at Upstairs at
the Beach Bar. Senior Chief Starr apologized for falling. Discussed USS Bainbridge
commissioning. Secretary sent names of all members to Navy League so we will be invited to
this. USS Anzio arrives November 10th to provide Shore Patrol services. USS
Elrod arrives in Fort Lauderdale the following week. We will host a reception for the
Bainbridge at 1900 hours November 8th at Café Bluefish. Uniform of the day
will be CPOA blue shirts and khaki pants. Commissioning is Saturday morning. Tours will be
available after the commissioning. Because the Anzio and Elrod will be in port for such a
short time, recommendation to pass on having receptions for them. Entrance for the
ceremony is only via Eller Drive.

Chief Short is obtaining a copy of the contract we have with the
Races and Chief Herrera needs to send copy of most recent bank statement and balance
sheet.

Old Business
- Reminder to mark calendars for Holiday Party. Will be at Grand Palms, $25 per person.
Tickets are on sale now. Senior Chiefs Schwartz and Roy retirees. Possible Chief
ODell and WO Holzinger. Chief Schuchman will be in Kuwait in December. Will contact
Patricia Bowden to invite her to the party. Have several possible retirees. Senior Chief
Starr will be in charge of the retirement ceremony. Please call Chief Lippincott to make
reservations. Cash bar at 1830, sit down for dinner at 1900. Chief Powell read draft of
program.
- Pat Hughes her son killed in auto accident. Was 18-year old Eagle scout. Motion
to contribute $100 to Boy Scouts of American in her sons name. Duly seconded and
passed at last months meeting. Our donation has been sent.
- Chief Correia has suggested assisting Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale with the Boat
Parade. Chief Neary contacted Chief Daigle and they are looking forward to our assistance.
We will need 4-5 people to cook hots and burgers for them. CPOA will assist to free up
their folks so that they can be with their families. A donation of an unwrapped toy is
requested. More information to follow. This will be good PR for us.
- Following last months nomination for officers for 2006 term, nominations were
reopened. With no further nominations, the slate of officers was elected by acclamation.
The 2006 officers will be: President Ron Roy, Vice-President Stan Lesser,
Treasurer Jerry Lippincott, Secretary Gayle Malone.
New Business
- There will be a Veterans Day ceremony at Fred Hunters on Sheridan. Chief
Lippincott has more information.
Motion to adjourn, 2030. Duly seconded and passed.
