Treasurer’s Report: Treasure absent.

• Race – Chief Short reminds everyone that the November races are our primary fund raiser.
• Scholarship – Thank-you received from Vanesss Lippincott
• Philanthropy – Discussion about where to best sent donation for Hurricane Katrina relieve efforts. This will be researched further.
• Ship Liaison – USS Bradley reception held October 2^nd at Upstairs at the Beach Bar. Plaques exchanged. Discussed USS Bainbridge commissioning. Secretary sent names of all members to Navy League so we will be invited to this. USS Elrod arrives in Fort Lauderdale the following week.
• 501(3)(c) – Chief Short is obtaining a copy of the contract we have with the Races and Chief Herrera needs to send copy of most recent bank statement and balance sheet.
• Initiation – NTR

• Hurricane Katrina donation – discussion under philanthropy.
• Gift certificates presented to CWO’s wife struck by lightening.

• Pat Hughes – her son killed in auto accident. Was 18-year old Eagle scout. Motion to contribute $100 to Boy Scouts of American in her son’s name. Duly seconded and passed.
• Chief Correia asked for t-shirts to be made for us in grey. Had sample. Also discussed the annual Boat Parade at the Coast Guard Station. Suggested assisting with this. Chief Neary will contact Chief Daigle. Chief Correia also brought up March Waterway cleanup and Memorial Day – would like to see greater Navy presenc.e
• Discussion about Hollywood Nights. Chief Short will research this
• Reminder to mark calendars for Holiday Party. Will be at Grand Palms, $25 per person. Tickets are on sale now. Senior Chiefs Schwartz and Roy retirees. Chief Schuchman will be in Kuwait in December. Will contact Patricia Bowden to inviter her to the party.
• First Nomination for new officers for 2006. The following slate of officers were duly nominated: President – Ron Roy, Vice-President – Stan Lesser, Treasurer – Jerry Lippincott, Secretary – Gayle Malone. Second nominations and final voting will take place at November meeting.
