November 2007 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order 1938.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/. 

Treasurer’s Report:  Savings balance $7,242.82; checking $1,462.69.  Deposit for Holiday Party $200. Motion to accept treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Committee Reports:

• Race Committee – Chief Short reminded everyone the next race this month.  Will need names of attendees next month.  Need to make our own reservations.  Details on website.
• Scholarship – NTR
• Philanthropy – Chief Powell reported that we sent Armed Forces Service Center $200.  Researching Wounded Warrior project.  Never heard back from Ship’s Project.
• Ship Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr reported Iwo Jima coming November 9^th-13^th for Veteran’s Day.  Reception November 12^th at Café Blue Fish.  Leyte Gulf 25^th anniversary of commissioning.  Reception December 4^th at Wayward Sailor.  Thanksgiving gift certificates will be given this month. 
• Initiation – NTR

Old Business:

• Holiday dinner preparations – We have been given December 7, 2007 at the Elks Lodge in Pompano. $30.  Will have special raffle at dinner.  Reservations required.  Address and menu will be posted on website.

New Business:

• December 7^th VFW ceremony and luncheon.
• First Nomination of 2008 Officers:  President – Robin Viggiano; Vice-president – Rick Tedlow; Treasurer – Jerry Lippincott; Secretary – Gayle Malone.  Second nomination and voting will take place at the December meeting.

Good of the Order:

• Note that the meeting in December will be at Sea Cadet building.

Motion to Adjourn 2031.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
