Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.
Special remembrance for PX O’Neill.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/. 

Treasurer’s Report:  Savings balance $7,225.91; checking $1,4169.39.  Motion to accept treasurer’s report as read.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Committee Reports:

• Race Committee – Chief Short reminded everyone the next race is in November.  Will need names of attendees next month.  Need to make our own reservations.  Details on website.
• Scholarship –   NTR
• Philanthropy – NTR
• Ship Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr was able to attend retirement ceremony of CMC of Gridley.  Iwo Jima coming November 9^th-13^th for Veteran’s Day.  Reception November 12^th at Café Blue Fish.  Leyte Gulf 25^th anniversary of commissioning.  Reception December 4^th at Wayward Sailor.  Thanksgiving gifts for Gannett, Station Fort Lauderdale, Aids to Navigation team, 2 for NOSC, Southcom, and AirSta.  May do burger burn for Boat Parade although on New River this year.
• Initiation – Chief Viggiano had a thank-you plaque from FY08 Chiefs to CPOA.

Old Business:

• Holiday dinner preparations – We have been given December 7, 2007 at the Elks Lodge in Pompano. Will look into hotels close in case some members don’t want to drive home.  Need $200 deposit.  Address and menu will be posted on website.

New Business:

• December 7^th VFW ceremony and luncheon.
• Motion to host Iwo Jima and Leyte Gulf receptions.  Not to exceed $400 and $300 respectively.  Duly seconded and approved.

Good of the Order:

• Senior Chief Larson – Shift Colors spring issue has information about “Safe Harbor” which aids injured military.  Senior Chief Larson went to training and will continue to update.
• Navy League sponsoring Admiral Keating at Tower club, October 24^th.  Dinner $55.
• No meeting at VFW in December.  Will meet at Sea Cadet building.
• Need to start thinking about new officers.  President and Vice President can only serve 2 years.  Treasurer very important position with our new tax standing.

Motion to Adjourn 2035.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
