Minutes from the Previous Meeting: Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved. Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/.
Treasurer’s Report: Chief Lippincott not available. Reminder that dues should be paid for 2008, $20 for members, $10 for associates. Chief Viggiano read report: savings balance $5,261.20; checking balance $7,707.59. Motion to accept report as read. Duly seconded and approved.
Committee Reports:
| Race Committee – Chief Short noted Indy races will be in March. Everyone needs to plan now to assist. |
| Scholarship – NTR |
| Philanthropy – First quarter paid to Armed Forces Service Center. Need volunteers for “No place like home” extreme home makeover day. April 12th from 0800-1600. Register to volunteer by contacting Elizabeth Wynter at ewynter@unitedwaybroward.org or 954-462-4850x211. Master Chief Fagenbaum can provide more information as well. |

| Fleet Week Chief Petty Officers Reception – Senior Chief Roy committee chair. Meeting notes: Fleet Week CPOA Reception kickoff meeting. Present: Joe Millsap, Ed Rumin, Ken Brown, Dave Cohen, Paul LaCoursiere, Ron Roy, Gayle Malone. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 1330, CRYC. Reception will be Tuesday, April 29th beginning 1830. Ed has obtained approval from Board of Governors of Coral Ridge Yacht Club and Captains Club. He will notify membership and seek donations. Gayle will send letter to Joe for distribution to Broward Navy Days and Navy Leagues. Ron will send 501(3)(c) tax information to Ed. Full information can be found at http://www.taxexemptworld.com/organization.asp?tn=1543180. CPOA will provide speaker to CRYC Tuesday luncheon to address “What is a Chief?” and etiquette questions. Gayle will try to obtain posters for CRYC. Need to keep CMC of D7, Ted Fuller informed. Suggestion to invite key contributors to official ships’ greeting Monday of Fleet Week as well as other activities. CPOA will obtain t-shirts. Food, bar, wait staff issues to be addressed at subsequent meeting. Entertainment: Navy Band and karaoke?
