Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/. 

Treasurer’s Report:  Chief Lippincott submitted report:  savings balance $5,289.90; checking balance $11,979.43.  Fleet week contributions for 2008 $15,000.  Fleet week expenses $10,679.53.  Chief Short presented food bills for reception of USS Sterett $400.56.  Several members paid their dues this evening.  Motion to accept report.  Duly seconded and approved.  The holiday dinner at the Elks Club will be $30 per person.  Menu will include mixed green salad, chicken Marsalla, tilapia in butter sauce, or brisket, chef’s vegetable choice and garlic roasted potatoes, coffee, tea, rolls with butter, and carrot sheet cake.  Well drinks will be at member price $3.50.

 Committee Reports:

bulletRace Committee – Chief Short reminded everyone to gear up for November races.  Chief Powell spoke about rooms.

bulletShip Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr reported on reception for USS Sterett held at Sea Cadet Building August 31st.
bulletInitiation – Spaghetti dinner fundraiser held during this meeting by selectees.
