Meeting called to order 1930
.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/

Treasurer’s Report:  Chief Lippincott reported $6,571.94 in checking, $5,303.14 in savings.  We have a check from Americrown (approximately $4,500) and the rooms for the races were $1,523.25.  Motion to accept treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and approved.

Committee Reports:

  • Race Committee – There was discrepancy in the inventory which Chief Lippincott will research. 
                                         Possible race in March.

  • Scholarship – NTR
     

  • Philanthropy –  Chief Powell unable to reach Toys for Tots to follow up.
     

  • Ship Liaison and Navy League – Gave six $50 Publix gift certificates to deserving sailors for Thanksgiving (USCG Cutter Gannett, USCG Station Fort Lauderdale, USCG Aids to Navigation Team, USCG Air Station Opalocka, a sailor and a marine from the NOSC.  Received letters of appreciation and thanks from the Air Station and Station Fort Lauderdale.  Commissioning of the USCG Cutter Diamondback will be January 17th, 1400, at Miami Beach.
     

  • Initiation – NTR
     

  • Fleet Week Reception – committee formed for 2009:  Master Chief LaCoursiere, Chief Viggiano, Senior Chief Roy, Chief Cohen, and Gayle.  Will be setting up meetings.  Need to verify that we will have it at Coral Ridge Yacht Club.  Tentative date of reception is April 28th.

    Old Business:
     

  • Wine tasting event similar to last year’s to recognize donors from Coral Ridge Yacht Club.  Will be at 7th Street Wine Company for January 31st, 1400-1600. Motion to wear summer whites or service equivalent for Chiefs.  Duly seconded and passed.
     

  • New Business:

  • Event for Chiefs suggested – Dining out.  The Chiefs 116th birthday is in April.  Motion to use the Chiefs birthday as the theme for our reception in April and plan the event for July.  Duly seconded and passed.

  • Good of the Order

  • Tricare – Master Chief Robertson encouraged everyone to pay attention to the changes Congress is trying
                         to implement.  These include raising the premiums for chiefs aged 60-62, dis-enrolling people from
                         the VA.  If you are about to apply for Medicare, should not enroll in Part D benefits (age 64-65).
     

  • Disney celebrates the Militarycan receive 1 complimentary 5-day ticket and only be charged $99 for each
                                                               additional family member.
     

  • Change in reserve retirementSenior Chief Larson suggested going to www.military.com to view.

  • Motion to Adjourn 2031.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
