Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.    Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder - minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website (http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/).   

Treasurer’s Report:  Chief Lippincott reported $35 cash, and 3 outstanding checks.  Checking balance $10,191.73, savings $5,321.39.  Motion to accept treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and approved. 

America’s Moms for Soldiers:  Pat Hughes introduced Dan and Judy Smith.  This group sends mail for those stationed abroad with no families.  Sends packages of hygiene and snacks to troops in Afghanistan.  Many are orphans or out of foster care.  Sending about 1200 each month.  Most supplies donated but costs $11.95/box to mail.  Article in Sept 13^th Sun Sentinel.   

Committees:

• Race –  Chief Lippincott noted October 8, 9, 10 only.  Credentials request turned off.  Chief Powell working on November information now.  He needs information ASAP.
• Scholarship –  NTR
• Philanthropy –  NTR
• Ship Liaison –  HMCS Toronto will be arriving.  Will try to plan Chiefs Reception for at Wayward Sailor.
• Initiation – NTR
• Fleet Week – Master Chief LaCoursiere reported issues with active duty chiefs planning activities which required reservists to take time off from work.

Old Business

• December Holiday Dinner – Gloria Drago reported will be December 11^th at new Elks Lodge in Sunrise (44^th and Pine Island.  Dinner and dance.  Need donations and RSVP by November 5^th.

New Business

• 1^st call for nominations for officers:  President (Chief Drago and Chief Tedlow), Vice-president (Senior Chief Roy), Treasurer (Chief Lippincott), Secretary (Honorary Chief Malone).
• America’s Moms for Soldiers:  Motion to contribute $1,000 to this organization.  Duly seconded and approved.
• HMCS Toronto reception:  Motion to fund reception $500 at Wayward Sailor.  Duly seconded and approved.

Good of the Order

·        Chief Neary hospitalized for broken arm.

·        USS Simpson here this weekend but not long enough for a reception.

·        Tricare – Master Chief Robertson reported online ability to view status of claims and explanation of benefits.

·        Knights of Pythagorus requesting donations for turkey run and mentoring volunteers.

·        Treasurer requests formation of audit committee.
