Meeting called to order 1928.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.  Reminder – minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website, http://www.pes1.com/cpoa/.   

Treasurer’s Report:  Chief Lippincott reported checking $9,436.88, savings $1,002.90, money market $10,033.04.  Have received approximately $8,000 in donations for Fleet Week and opened new account to track this.  Should make 11% for last races.  Motion to accept treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved. 

Committee Reports:

• Race Committee – Chief  Short reported last race very difficult to work.  People need to keep their commitments.  22 people made over $21,700.  Rooms were a problem.  Next races in October and November.
• Scholarship – Chief Tedlow reported receiving one application.
• Philanthropy – Chief  Powell trying to draft templates for donations.  Will research Miami Lakes home for veterans to see if it meets criteria for sea services.
• Ship Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr reported that March 21^st, will be reception on board Caribbean Princess to benefit Wheelchairs for Haiti.
• Initiation – Senior Chief Walker n/a.
• Fleet Week Reception – Had third meeting at CRYC March 31^st at 1330 at Coral Ridge Yacht Club.  Present:  Ed Rumin, Ken Brown, Dave Cohen, Harvey Cohen,  Gayle Malone, Tim Neary, Paul LaCoursiere, Chuck Robertson, Joe Millsaps, Alan Starr.  The reception will be held Tuesday, April 27th beginning 1900.  The winners of the ship rides will be communicated to the CMCs before the actual reception to ensure all details are worked out in advance.  Joe Cantu will provide DJ.  Karaoke and Air Guitar contest big hit.  Gayle has contacted Dave Campbell with Police Pipe & Drum Corps and South Florida Video.  Senior Chief Rundel says we may have the Navy Jazz Ensemble as well.  Who will be keynote speaker?  Ed will obtain Macy’s bags for gifts.  Commands scheduled:  Commander Expeditionary Strike Group 2, Navy Region Southeast, USS Iwo Jima LHD 7, USS Porter DDG 78, USS Halyburton FFG 40, USCGC Key Biscayne WPB 1339, USS Independence LCS2, HMCS Montreal FFH 336, FGS Hessen F2221, and USS Newport News SSN 750.  Gayle will coordinate with Ed and t-shirt vendor to deliver shirt week before the event.  President of CPOA will be master of ceremonies.

Old Business:

·        Dues. Must be paid no later than March or price increases.

·        Rusty Pedersen retires June 11^th.

·        Chief Short discussed $2000 cook trailer.  Will research further insurance and permitting costs.  Hollywood has list of promoters.  Need $1 million insurance policy.
