Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.    Duly seconded and approved.  Reminder - minutes of all meetings will be posted on our website. 

Treasurer’s Report:  Chief Lippincott reported checking balance $10,811.85 with 3 outstanding checks, savings $1,003.90, Money Market $10,053.07.  Motion to accept treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and approved.  Master Chief LaCoursiere reported that we had approximately $400 left from Fleet Week reception expenses. 

Committees:

• Race – Chief Powell noted Indy races October 1^st – 2^nd; NASCAR November 19^th – 21^st.  Information on website.  Chief Short noted that the TIPS training is mandatory.  It only takes about 2 hours and the association will pay for it. Everyone who works the front line will need this training for both the October and November races.  First class mess NOSC has offered to help.
• Scholarship – Have received one application.
• Philanthropy – Chief Powell reported that he working to send the $500 donations to the USS Bataan and the USNS Comfort.
• Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported Master Chief Lou Kitchen will be new District 7 Command Chief.  Several other changes of commands.  Barque Eagle will be Port Everglades July 23^rd.  Ark Royal, Barry, and Liverpool will be in port July 26^th – 29^th.  Commissioning of USS Dunham DDG 109 will be November 13^th.  Fort Lauderdale council is sponsor.
• Initiation – New command chief will take back to NOSC.
• Fleet Week – See report given during Treasurer’s report.  Will give plaques to boats that gave rides.

Old Business

• Read names of dues paying members.
• Planning on possible barbeque at NOSC or VFW September 18^th at 1630.

New Business

·       December Holiday Dinner –Elks Lodge in Sunrise (44^th and Pine Island).  Dinner and dance.  Date TBD.  Need volunteers to coordinate:  Meloney Roy, Lorraine Cohen, and Norm Powell.

·       Reception for British ships at Wayward Sailor.  Motion duly seconded to host reception not to exceed $500.  Unanimously approved.

·       Motion for Chiefs’ Reception for USS Dunham at Wayward Sailor.  Motion duly seconded to host reception not to exceed $750.  Unanimously approved.
