Meeting called to order 1930. Pledge of Allegiance
and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept
minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved. Reminder - minutes of all
meetings will be posted on our website (http://www.cpoamiami.com).
Treasurer’s Report: Chief Lippincott reported via
email. Checking balance $11,117.48, savings $1,003.57, Money Market
$10,046.46. Motion to accept treasurer’s report as read. Duly seconded and
approved. Master Chief LaCoursiere reported that we had enough donations to
just barely cover the expenses of the CPOA Fleet Week reception.
Committees:
- Race – Chief Powell sent email that he will
work with someone to set up berthing for the races. Chief Short noted that
the TIPS training is mandatory. It only take about 2 hours and the
association will pay for it. Everyone who works the front line will need
this training for both the October and November races.
- Scholarship – Chief Tedlow reported no new
applicants.
- Philanthropy – Chief Powell reported via email
that he working to send the $500 donations to the USS Bataan and the USNA
Comfort.
- Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported
Master Chief Lou Kitchen will be new District 7 Command Chief.
- Initiation – NTR
- Fleet Week – See report given during
Treasurer’s report.
Old Business
- Freedom Foundation Award for CPOA submitted by CRYC
- DVD and still pictures of CPOA reception not completed
yet.
- Retirement of Master Chief Rusty Pedersen June 11th
and Air Station Opalocka at 0930.
- Planning on possible barbeque at NOSC or VFW October 2nd
at 1630.
- Date for meeting at the NOSC June 5th.
New Business
- December Holiday Dinner –Elks Lodge in Sunrise (44th
and Pine Island. Dinner and dance. Date TBD.
- Joe Millsaps passed away. Funeral service 1530
at Calvary Chapel on Cypress Creek. Will have flags flown over Capitol as
well as USS Cole. Summer whites or Blue shirts. Motion to make $500
donation to Broward Navy Days in his memory. Duly seconded and unanimously
passed.
