Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.  All items posted on website:  www.cpoamiami.com.   

Treasurer’s Report:  Senior Chief Roy reported money market $10,072.62, savings: $1,004.88, checking: $5,574.27, outstanding checks: $1424.00.  Motion to accept the treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved. 

Committee Reports:

• Race Committee – Chief  Short reported IZOD races in October.  Need minimum of 10 on Friday and 20 on Saturday.  No rooms at Homestead.  November NASCAR races 19^th – 21^st.  Need people to take the training to serve alcohol (TIPS training on website and good for 3 years).  Need as many volunteers as possible.  Need birthdate, name, DL; this is a requirement of the track.  Cannot wear tank tops.
• Scholarship – Received a thank-you letter from the recipient.
• Philanthropy – N/A
• Ship Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr USS Jason Dunham DDG 109 will be commissioned here November 13^th.  They arrive November 5^th and hope to have CPO reception Saturday, November 6^th at Bravo Italiano Ristorante (1515 SE 17^th Street Causeway), 1900-2100.  There will be 4 Canadian ships arriving after Dunham commissioning.
• Initiation – N/A

Old Business:

·       Holiday party – tentatively set for December 3^rd at same location as last year. 

New Business: 

·       First call for 2011 officer nominations:  All current officers re-nominated for next year. 

Good of the Order: 

·       Allure of the Seas (part of USS Jason Dunham activities) Friday, November 12^th.
