Meeting called to order 1930.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting:  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.  All items posted on website:  www.cpoamiami.com. 

Treasurer’s Report:  Senior Chief Roy reported money market $10,059.80, savings: $1,004.24, checking: $9,324.75, outstanding checks: $1,128.62, balance: $19,260.27.  Motion to accept the treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved.

Committee Reports:

• Race Committee – Chief  Short reported IZOD races October 1^st and 2^nd.  Need minimum of 10 on Friday and 20 on Saturday.  No rooms at Homestead.  November NASCAR races 19^th – 21^st.  Need people to take the training to serve alcohol (TIPS training on website and good for 3 years).  Need as many volunteers as possible.  Need your date of birth, name, DL# or SSN ; this is a requirement of the track.  Cannot wear tank tops.
   
• Scholarship – NTR
   
• Philanthropy – Chief  Powell sent donations to Bataan and Comfort.  Sent condolences to Chief Drago’s family for their loss.
   
• Ship Liaison and Navy League – Senior Chief Starr USS Jason Dunham DDG 109 will be commissioned here November 13^th.  They arrive November 5^th and hope to have CPO reception Saturday, November 6^th.  Sponsorship opportunities. There will be an all hands party November 5^th.  November 6^th will be 5K race.  Many activities.  Chief Neary is setting up reception at Bravo Italiano Ristorante (1515 SE 17^th Street Causeway), 1900-2100.  There will be 4 Canadian ships arriving after Dunham commissioning.
   
• Initiation –Chief Johnny Hill reported may be in NASJAX.  Pinning at 1400 at NOSC September 16^th.  Khaki ball at Marriott at Fort Lauderdale Beach September 17^th.

Old Business:

·       NTR.
 

New Business: 

·       Motion to purchase 200 coins.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved. 

·       Motion to fund $1,000 for CPO reception of USS Jason Dunham.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved. 

·       Motion to donate $500 for Selectees by Chief Marcello.  Duly seconded and unanimously approved. 

Good of the Order: 

·       Civil War Navy would like invitation to Holiday Party.

·       NAS museum getting ready to open.

·       Future meeting dates the first Thursday of each month.  Please note that 2 meetings will be held at Sea Cadets Building.
