Meeting called to order by QMC Arthur Drago: 1936.  Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence. 
 

Officers:

Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report:

Ø     Motion to accept Treasurer’s report.  Duly seconded and approved.

Committees:

1. Race – (Mike Short/Norm Powell)

·      NASCAR will be 14-18 NOV

·      TIP training will need to be redone for everyone online. Cost is approx $40.00 but reimbursable by the CPOA. Link up on site.

·      Norm has already contacted the Homestead AB about rooms. Rooms must be booked by 14 OCT.

·      Sign up to volunteer on website- Norm/Mike/Ron will see.

·      NEW RULES!!!! Must now wear uniform clothing consisting of: black PANTS (no more shorts…I know…it’s going to make it hot), closed toe shoes, and must purchase a shirt from NASCAR for $4.50.

·      AJ will be signing the contract and will ask about the purchasing of extra t-shirts (since wearing a dirty shirt is unsanitary).

4. Ship Liaison –  (Al Starr)

·       No ships scheduled to be in port ATT.

·       Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony will be 2DEC. Al Starr is the Master of Ceremony.

5.      Induction –  (AJ Drago)

·       Discussion to follow after all business covered.

·       Offline discussion started at 2022 and ended 2100

·       Pinning will be Fri, Sept 14^th at 1300 in SOUTHCOM’s gym.

·       “Night Of” will be Thurs, Sept 13 beginning at 1600 at Markham Park in Weston. 

·       Khaki Ball is on Sat, 15 Sep at the Marriott in Ft Lauderdale.

·       Dave STILL has not gotten the name/address of the trophy shop utilized by the CPOA.

·       Rick Tedlow and Ron Roy need plaques for past presidency. Need to confirm dates of tenure.

·       Need an award for Rick Schuchman for his retirement.

New Business:

·       Saturday, 22 SEP @ 1300 the Sea Cadets will be promoting (2) cadets to the rank of CPO so please come out to the Sea Cadet bldg to show them our support and congratulations if you can.

·       25^th Anniversary Cruise: 7-9 DEC 2012

§       PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL SERVE AS OUR 25^th Anniversary cruise AND our annual Christmas party.

§       Celebration Cruise Line

1.     $139.00 pp. (INCLUDES port fees and taxes and all meals).

2.     Gratuity and alcohol cost is separate.

3.     Flat rate parking for $15.00.

4.     Departs from the Port of Palm Beach at 5:30pm, must be onboard by 1600.

5.     Motion was made by Chuck R to put $500 tab on the bar. Paul L seconded and motion was passed.

6.     Bring your Summer Whites for an evening celebration!

Good of the Order:

·       Military Monday with the Marlins: Final days for FREE games on below dates as long as you have a military id card. Just go to the Marlins box office. You get (2) tickets per ID.

Games available are:

1.     Sept 17 vs. Braves      (1910 game time)

2.     Oct 1 vs. Mets             (1910 game time)

·       COAST GUARD MESS REPORT:

1.     Lou stated that their fall CCTI Cycle began 1SEP and goes thru 1 DEC. This is where all Messes in DIV 7 go thru their INDOC.

2.     They have some road races and BBQ’s coming up.

3.     Lou put out that Reservists are more than welcome to come drill with them. Make arrangements thru Lou.

4.     Lou retires in May 2013 after 33 years of service and will be moving to FT Myers.

5.     27OCT they will be having a party at Station Miami Beach @ 0900. We are invited.

6.     Mark Mello is the best person to get in touch with for coordination of Messes etc.

·       AJ had some free certificates to give out so we drew names for them:

3.     $50. Capital Grill- AJ Drago

4.     $50. Capital Grill- Chuck Robertson

5.     Appetizer at Capital Grill- Ken Larson

·       Ron Roy won $8.00 at the 50/50 drawing and donated all back to the CPOA funds ($16. total to CPOA).
