Meeting called to order by Chief Karen Leonard: 1930.

Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence. Introduced Coast Guard Selectees.

Officers:

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy reported 5 outstanding checks. Current balances: Checking $4,632.50, Savings $3,150.32, Money Market $10,233.42. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved.

Committees:

· Race – (Mike Short/Norm Powell) – Chief Roy reported need someone to take over next year. Made $261 in tips. Were a little short on people Friday. Had good number for Saturday and Sunday. Overall went well.

Scholarship – NTR

Philanthropy – NTR.

· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported CNO invited to Doral. Promised Fleet Week and USS New York will be lead ship. CO of USS Cole resident of Boca and hopes to have USS Cole in January. $75 gift cards were distributed. Sunday Pearl Harbor celebration at Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale. Air Show sill not be held this year during Fleet week due to airport construction.

· Fleet Week – Master Chief LaCoursiere will be chair. Fleet week reception April 29^th. 1^st meeting will be in January with Coral Ridge Yacht Club.

· Induction – NTR

· Awards – NTR.

Old Business:

o December Holiday Cruise. December 6^th – 8^th. Next year will be 2^nd week of December.

o Holiday Dinner December 12^th at Tropical Acres. New York strip or chicken, appetizers, cheese cake. $30 for guests.

o White elephant gift exchange at holiday party (less than $20)

New Business:

· Suggested 2014 events

o April 4-6 Key West Trip

· USS Cole Reception: Motion to host reception for USS Cole not to exceed $500. Duly seconded and approved.

· Discussion to include 1^st classes in some of our events.

Good of the Order:

· Senior Chief Starr’s brother in law passed away.
