Meeting called to order by Chief Karen Leonard: 1930.

Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy reported $479.07 in outstanding checks. Current balances: Checking $10,516.88, Savings $3147.01, Money Market $10,214.14. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved.

Special Thanks from Chief Short and Jennifer.

Committees:

· Race – (Mike Short/Norm Powell) – Chief Powell reported only upcoming race in November. Looking for help with berthing.

Scholarship – (Rick Tedlow) Chief Tedlow reported one application has been submitted. July 31^st last day to submit application.

Philanthropy – (Norm Powell)

· Chief Powell received email from Armed Forces Service Center

Ship Liaison – (Al Starr)

· Senior Chief Starr reported he is vice-chairman of Broward Navy Days. Concern there may not ever be another Fleet Week. Canada may send some warships. Also trying to entice more international Navy visits. Attended Master Chief Lou Kitchen’s and Master Chief Mello’s retirements as well as the change of command for Sector 7. Attended SOY at Pier 66. NOSC did not have anyone represented at this.

· Induction – (AJ Drago/Chris Marcello)

· NTR.

· Awards – (Dave Cohen/Mike Short)

· Chief Cohen ordered plaque for Coral Ridge Yacht Club commodore.

Old Business:

· Donated $100 to Operation 300.

· Events for year:

o July fishing. Chief Tedlow reported on several options. Majority prefer Saturday, July 13^th, 0830 SEALEGS III Drift Fishing.

o August 8^th David Alan Grier at Seminole HardRock. @2000 Improv at the Seminole Hard Rock Café. CPOA will buy the drinks for paid members. Members only buy ticket(s). Guest must pay for ticket and drinks. Deadline is 15JUN to sign up with Ron. Must pay for ticket after 15JUN if you cannot go.

o Key West trip needs more information. Will try to do weekend after beginning of the year.

o NASCAR November 15^th – 18^th.

o December Holiday Cruise. December 6^th – 8^th.

New Business:

· Holiday Dinner Party. Motion to have at Tropical Acres. Duly seconded and approved. Will try to set up a Thursday dinner December 12^th.

Good of the Order:

· Senior Chief Larson thanked CPOA for support on the passing of his mother.

· ISCM JT Freels retires after 24yrs @SOUTHCOM on 29AUG13@1430

· LSC Ken Bennett is acting NOSC SEL

· Miami Marlins: Free tickets on Monday with ID card

· Chief Drago’s daughter went to hospital for surgery.

· Chief Leonard retiring next August.
