Meeting called to order by Chief Karen Leonard: 1930.

Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence. Introduced Coast Guard Selectees.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy reported 2 outstanding checks. Current balances: Checking $7,405.65, Savings $3,149.67, Money Market $10,229.64. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report. Duly seconded and approved.

Committees:

· Race – (Mike Short/Norm Powell) – Chief Powell reported rooms reserved. Don’t have enough for two venues. NRD have their own gig down there. Still need to have someone take over next year.

Scholarship – NTR

Philanthropy – Thank-you from Coast Guard selectees for $100 donation.

· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported Fleet Week approved for 2014. Hope for USS New York and 2 Canadian boats. CNO visiting this week at Doral. Senior Chief Starr honored at panthers game as Hero Among Us. Veterans Day ceremony at sunrise Civic Center. Saturday is SEALS annual muster. Sea Cadet competition next week. May be naming LCS USS Fort Lauderdale. Master Chief LaCoursiere asked to chair the Fleet Week committee again.

· Induction – NTR

· Awards – (Dave Cohen/Mike Short)

· NTR.

Old Business:

o December Holiday Cruise. December 6^th – 8^th. Next year will be 2^nd week of December.

o Holiday Dinner December 12^th at Tropical Acres. New York strip or chicken, appetizers, cheese cake. $30 for guests.

o Thanksgiving gift cards presented as directed.

New Business:

· Nominations and voting for 2014 officers:

o President: Chief Karen Leonard. Nomination seconded and unanimously approved.

o Vice-president: Master Chief Chuck Robertson. Nomination seconded and unanimously approved.

o Secretary: CTI2 Gayle Malone. Nomination seconded and unanimously approved.

o Treasurer: Senior Chief Ron Roy. Nomination seconded and unanimously approved.

· Holiday Party. Proposed white elephant gift exchange. Idea seconded and approved.

Good of the Order:

· Recognized HMC Tedlow for working with the Sea Cadets.

· Robert Leonard hired at South Bay Hospital part time as a Paramedic and will be going to nursing school

· Happy Veterans Day card from Chief Tedlow.

· Chief Marcello spoke about PQS for transition. Asked if any pieces could engage CPOA members with SELRES. Senior Chief Roy will post on website.
