Meeting called to order by Chief Karen Leonard: 1930.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy reported that annual audit completed prior to meeting and no discrepancies found. Reminder about dues. Checking balance $7,686.43; savings $3,151.66; money market $10,241.24 with outstanding check #730 for $61.25. Filed corporate report. Motion to accept report and duly seconded and passed.
Committees:
· Race – Chief Short has received check. Chief McTee will work with Mike for next race. Chief Tedlow will backup Chief Powell.
· Ship Liaison – N/A
· Fleet Week – Master Chief LaCoursiere reported there was a meeting Jan 24th. Will invite wounded warriors to boat rides.
· Induction – Chief Drago says plan is for full season. Wants to have participation on Sundays for CPO365 at 1400 for instruction at NOSC. Possibility of Markham Park or Homestead.
· Awards – Plaques presented to Chief Drago and Chief Leonard for their service as president of the CPOA.
Old Business:
· Movie night had about 14 attendees.
· Question about $250 scholarship for both Spruance and Zeus divisions of the Sea Cadets. They do not receive any support for this from any other entity. The Sea Cadet Commander would recommend the appropriate senior. Suggestion to call it a Merit Award for Outstanding Senior Sea Cadet. Chief Tedlow will come up with stipulations and present at next meeting.
· 2014 events
o Have spote on CPOA website for signing up for events.
o February 16th bowling. The CPOA will pay for two (2) games and shoes for members. Guests will be paid for by the members (this was voted on last year). The cost is $3.50 per game.
o Key West Trip. We are going to Key West (finally) on April 11th, 12th, 13th. There is more than one military place to stay.
§ Navy Lodge Key (305) 292 7556, $99.00 per night (no tax). Strongly suggest you make a reservation as early as possible beginning February 11th. If you are not sure you can make it, reserve room early anyway. There is no penalty for cancellation.
§ Truman annex (305) 293 4117. Standard room $60, suite $75. You may make your reservation 30 days out beginning March 11th.
o Will table discussion of other events until next month.
§ March 27th Joe Coco Diaz at Improv. Mixed feedback. Everyone needs to look at website and decide if this is something we want.
§ May 31st Vizcaya. CPOA will pay half of $12.00.
§ June 22nd Coral Castle Homestead. CPOA will pay half of $12.00.
§ July 12th fishing
§ August 1st Chief Leonard retires. Ceremony at Southcom at 0900. Dress blues with medals for participants only. All others CPOA shirts or khaki.
§ August 16th Flamingo Gardens. Cost is $15.00 or if group 15+, we can get group tour with narrated tram ride ($4 savings).
§ September 20th SEAL UDT Fort Pierce. Cost is $8.00 with CPOA paying half.
§ October 18th Xtreme Indoor Karting.
§ December 4th Holiday Party
§ December 12-14 Cruise
New Business:
· Jet Boat to Nassau. Chief Short will research.
· NOSC inspection this week. Chief Drago asked if part of dues could go to CPOA. Mess fund requires a legal entity. Suggestion to do an MWR which would not have the same requirements. Senior Chief Larson explained the difference between a mess and a CPOA. The mess is inspectable.
· Asked for suggestions for items for Fleet Week gift bag. Suggestion for luggage tag.
Good of the Order: Senior Chief Starr recognized for his service to the Sea Cadets.
