Meeting called to order by Master Chief Chuck Robertson: 1930.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Discussion about accuracy of minutes since Chief Short thought that Chief Tedlow would check on boat trip to Nassau. For the record, the minutes stand as written and Chief Short will check on it by next meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy checking balance $6,824.86; savings $3,152.26; money market $10,244.78 with total $20,221.90. Printing for Fleet Week $482.22. Will send color flyer plus letter and invitations. Printed 5 large posters. Received letter from AFSC thanking us for donation of $1,000. Dues Reminder. Motion to accept report and duly seconded and passed.
Committees:
· Race – Chief Short reminded everyone race is in November.
· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported that USCG Air Sta will provide helicopter for Fleet Week Reception. Senior Chief Orlando will be at CRY on the Cutter Gannet. USS New York and Cutter Bernard Webber will be in Port all week, USCG Dependable arrives Saturday. Sent invitation to all Chief messes. Asked Strike Group 12 to be Guest Speaker. Gayle will locate place to hold receptions for any other ships that might arrive outside of Fleet Week.
· Fleet Week – Master Chief LaCoursiere reported on second meeting. Third meeting will be March 13th. Will have licking party at CRYC when letter ready. Will have wounded warriors on yacht rides. Thanks to Senior Chief Starr for all his work with different groups to coordinate. Allocated $3,000 for gift bags for Chiefs. Friday night is VIP party and reception. One will be for WWII vets who served in France on USS New York. Other will be VIP reception at terminal 21. Senior Chief Starr will do after hour’s tour on Wednesday. Official All Hands will be 1800 at Hard Rock.
· Induction – Chief Drago reported committees now being formed. Hope to have more local. Selection dates back to original. All welcome at NOSC. Senior Chief Starr asked if any Enlisted Persons of the Year. Chief Drago will get names.
· Awards – Motion for plaques for Reception: Strike Group 12, USS New York LPD21, USCGC Gannet, and USCGC Webber. Duly seconded and approved.
Old Business:
· Bowling party well represented
· Award renamed to Summer Sea Cadet Training Support for both Spruance and Zeus divisions of the Sea Cadets. Motion to award up to $250 for one person in each division. This is not a scholarship or award. Duly seconded and approved.
· 2014 events
o Have spot on CPOA website for signing up for events.
o Improv March 27th for Joey Coco Diaz has very few signed up. Motion that for events in future that do not have at least 16 signed up at least 2 weeks prior to the event will not be CPOA sanctioned. Duly seconded and approved. Noted large parties get price breaks.
o Key West Trip. We are going to Key West (finally) on April 11th, 12th, 13th. There is more than one military place to stay.
§ Navy Lodge Key (305) 292 7556, $99.00 per night (no tax). Strongly suggest you make a reservation as early as possible beginning February 11th. If you are not sure you can make it, reserve room early anyway. There is no penalty for cancellation.
§ Truman annex (305) 293 4117. Standard room $60, suite $75. You may make your reservation 30 days out beginning March 11th.
§ Suggest Friday meet about 1630. Will discuss more at April meeting. Suggestion to have group agenda for any who are interested.
o Will table discussion of other events until next month.
§ May 31st Vizcaya. CPOA will pay half of $12.00.
§ June 22nd Coral Castle Homestead. CPOA will pay half of $12.00.
§ July 12th fishing
§ August 1st Chief Leonard retires. Ceremony at Southcom at 0900. Dress blues with medals for participants only. All others CPOA shirts or khaki.
§ August 16th Flamingo Gardens. Cost is $15.00 or if group 15+, we can get group tour with narrated tram ride ($4 savings).
§ September 20th SEAL UDT Fort Pierce. Cost is $8.00 with CPOA paying half.
§ October 18th Xtreme Indoor Karting.
§ December 4th Holiday Party
§ December 12-14 Cruise
New Business:
· Jet Boat to Nassau. Chief Short will research.
Good of the Order: Happy birthday to Harvey Cohen. Ed Rumin had heart surgery. Happy 27th Anniversary to Chief Drago.
