Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report:   Senior Chief Roy reported checking balance $19,642.00; savings $3,156.89; money market $10,271.84 with total $33,070.73.  Three outstanding checks totaling $700.00.  Motion to accept report duly seconded and passed. 

Committees:

·       Race – Chief Short reminded everyone race is November 13th – 17th.  Remember to register on the web site.  Free room if work more than one day.  TIPS training good for 3 years and will be reimbursed. Black slacks, shoes, and hat.  Shirt will be provided.

 

 

 

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported May 4th – 10th Fleet Week dates.  Propose to have reception May 5th.  Strike Group 2, USS Wasp, USS Cole, USS James Williams, a sub, 2 Coast Guard cutters, HMCS Lancaster.  Friday night event on Wasp.  November Thanksgiving gifts.

·       Fleet Week.  Master Chief LaCoursiere sent note to Coral Ridge Yacht Club to save date for reception as well as Holiday Party.

 

·       Induction – Chief Drago requested input on what went well.  White Hat burial too long.  Boy Scout camp good but spread out.  Wanted to ensure Selectees physically exhausted. Would like to start shirt process earlier.  Uniforms didn’t fit well.  Fashion show should have been part of indoc. Suggested checklist.

 

·       Awards – Chief Cohen had 2 plaques for cigar donors.

 

Old Business:

·       Other events:

§       Bowling September 28th a success.

§       November 8th SEAL UDT Fort Pierce.  Hope to have bus leaving at 9 a.m. returning 9 p.m.

§       December 5th Holiday Party.  Tropical Acres selected. Black Forest cake for dessert.  $30 for guests. White Elephant gift exchange under $20.

§       Cruise – Suggestion to have in February for Valentine’s Day since no sailings after New Year.  Would leave February 13th

§       Key West trip in April 2015.

New Business:

Good of the Order:

·       Thanks from Chief Leonard for attending her retirement ceremony.

·       Chief Drago gave update on ill sailor who will be pinned at a special ceremony October 12th.

·       Everyone invited to celebrate Navy birthday at Southcom October 12th at 1300.  Summer whites.

·       Sea Cadet run next Saturday 0700.
