Committees:
· Ship Liaison – The Yacht trip will be on the 2nd night during Fleet Week and is on the schedule with transportation that will be provided.
· Fleet Week. We are looking at Force Master Chief being the guest speaker. Monday night at 1800 will be the reception at Hard Rock Café and every command will have their Senior Sailor of the Year for representation. Unfortunately we cannot have our Junior Sailor of the Year because is $75 per Sailor. Uniform will be Khakis or Khaki with a polo *Mike Short has shirts if anyone is interested. That Thursday, we will be at Pier 66. The Navy band from Jacksonville will be playing.
· CPO365 – The event in Fort Pierce, Seal Museum on February 19th went amazing. All commands came together for Phase II in 2006 but this was the first time when at least 4 commands came together for Phase I and it turned out to be great! There were 24 Genuines and 57 FCPOs. Thank you to the Association for the $500 donation for food which helped a lot. We also presented Master Chief at the museum with a Plaque from South Florida CPOA. They did not charge us a dime! Let’s keep working together and keep the communication open.
· Awards – NTR
· Social Committee – Camp Blanding last year during the season was great! Try to make it this year if possible. Last week’s bowling went well especially for Chuck, well at least for the first game which he came on first place but the second game he showed his true colors and wasn’t even close. Please try to make it next month on Sunday, April 3rd at 1400, we will have a lot of fun. Key West trip will be on April 29th. You can stay at the Navy Lodge, Navy group and Town Houses or trailers. Make your reservation now!!! We are trying to make it a 3 night instead of 2. More information will be put out later about the upcoming cruise.
Old Business: NTR
New Business:
· Chief Powell encourages everyone to see the National Navy band from DC next time they are in town. They are great!
· Chief Tedlow wants to make motion to donate $500 to the Trident house. Is a non-profit organization that provides an off duty home to SEALs and other Special Forces groups to enjoy with their families. Duly seconded and approved!
· Chief Short wants to thank Ron Roy for putting the Fisher House on the CPOA website and hopes that we can help as much as possible. He also wants to make motion to have Vince, Ken and Joseph become Honorary members of the South Florida FCPOA. They are the committee that puts the Yacht club together, among other things, during Fleet Week for us. We will present them with a token of our appreciation during the event. Duly seconded and approved! He wants to make leather jackets with our names on the back and the SFCPOA logo in the front. More to follow!
· Chief Drago wants to make motion to donate $1000 to NMCRS. Duly seconded and approved!
· Chief Mctee – Yousef Abdulsalam will be getting promoted to Master Chief tomorrow at 1200 in HQ NRD, he will be providing food. Come and show support and congratulate him.
· Chief McTee asks that during the Key West trip, we stop at Boca Chica CPOA’s Goat Locker. The Friday after the Chief’s B-day they have an event called “Brown Out” (Khakis) and we could have lots of fun.
· Chief McTee would like to have a get together involving the family for CPO 365, possibly in May? Chief Norm and Chief Tedlow will take the lead on this matter.
· Master Chief George wants to make motion to pay Chief McTee $50 for the cutlass that he bought for Chief Lashawn Bennett retirement in the name of SFCPOA a couple of weeks ago. Duly seconded and approved!
· Chief McTee retirement will be on June 24th, probably at 1200. He wants to have it at Vero’s Beach where lots of history has been made but he is currently waiting for approval.
· 74th B-day of Seabees this Saturday!
· Head of committees should have a strong bullet on their EVAL!!
Good of the Order:
· NTR
Motion to adjourn: 2028. Duly seconded and passed.
