Meeting called to order by Chief Buck McTee: 1930.
Pledge of Allegiance, Sailor’s Creed and Moment of Silence. Happy Birthday U. S. Navy. Introduced first time attendees: Chief Emelio Martinez and Chief Jose Soto.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Chief Roy reported outstanding check of $888 and receipt of $3,000 from NRD for outlay to Khaki Ball. Checking balance $3,390.09 savings $3,172.71, money market $60,505.13; total $67,067.93. Current Thanksgiving and Holiday cards recipient list: Coast Guard Cutter Gannet, Coast Guard Air Station Opalocka, Coast Guard ANT team, Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale, Coast Guard Station Miami, Coast Guard Sector Miami, NOSC Miami active duty, NOSC Miami reserve, NOSC Miami Marine, NRD Miami, NOSC West Palm Beach active duty, NOSC West Palm Beach reserve, NOSC West Palm Beach Marine, Spruance Division Sea Cadets, Zeus Division Sea Cadets, SouthCom. Motion to accept report. Duly seconded and approved.
Committees:
· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported this is the 16th anniversary of the attack on the USS Cole. The USS Mason was attacked off the coast of Yemen this weekend. Three ships have sailed to Haiti. The Sea Cadet 5K run will be this Saturday. Need volunteers at Charnow Park on Hollywood Boardwalk by 0600, race starts 0730. Chief Correia would like to see an annual commitment to this race by the CPOA. There is a possibility the USS Zumwalt will come to Port Everglades in October. There will be nine ships this coming for 2017 Fleet Week: the Mesa Verde, 2 cruisers, 2 destroyers, 1 sub, 1 USCG fast response cutter, 2 Canadian ships. Fleet Week will begin May 1st, our reception will be May 2nd and boat ride May 3rd. Veterans Day ceremonies will be in the City of Sunrise at 1000. Chief Drago noted that Sunrise is very supportive of Veterans and is planning a park.
· CPO365 – Chief Zasloff reported there will be a Lessons Learned meeting.
· Awards – Chief Short purchased jackets.
· MWR - Master Chief Robertson stressed need to sign up on the web site in case of cancellations, etc. Bowling on October 23rd. Cruise October 28th. Bring Khaki uniform if it still fits. All information is on our web site. Holiday Dinner will be December 16th at Tropical Acres. Uniform is summer whites. Key West trip planned for April 7th weekend.
· CRYC – Meeting October 20th at 1130.
Old Business:
· New Coin – Chief Echeverria had design to show. $4.65 for 100 coins but price break for 200 plus mold fee and shipping. Size 3”x2¼”. Will still have legacy coin. Suggestion to sell internally for $10. Motion to order 200. Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
· Navy Ball – Chief Box reported that at previous meeting we approved underwriting cost for junior sailors $20 for the $40 ticket. At that time, we did not specify whether or not spouse or guest included. Tickets sold out and we are asked to support 213 tickets, 140 sailors and 73 spouses for total of $4,260. Motion to support this and not that in the future, such support only includes the service member. Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
New Business:
· Holiday Gift Cards – Motion to add Taclet South and specify reserve or active for the NOSC Marines. This will bring total of gift cards to 19 at $75 each, total $2,850. Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
· Junior Sailor with family issues – Motion to assist sailor needing to fly ill parent home with $1,000. Duly seconded and unanimously approved.
Good of the Order:
· Chief Correia noted Sea Cadet event in Marathon. Also, Chief Lyons, Torpedoman, is having health issues.
Motion to adjourn: 2107. Duly seconded and passed.
