Meeting called to order by Senior Chief Ron Zasloff: 1930.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting. Motion to accept minutes as posted. Duly seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Senior Chief Roy reported no outstanding checks. Checking balance $23,761.69 savings $3,187.29, money market $65,79.46; total $92,650.44. Motion to accept report. Duly seconded and approved. Note that dues are payable now.

Committees:

Race – Chief Short reported race paperwork due one month in advance of race so only 2 months left to plan to work. All workers must be at least 18 years old. Link on our web site to sign up. $50 drawing won by Stan Bostick. Races are week before Thanksgiving. Party Saturday evening after races. Chief Powell needs information to plan for berthing.
Scholarship – Chief Tedlow reported 2017 recipients: Megan Hall, Amanda Leonard, Arthur Drago. Congratulations to all. Committee will be looking at expanding criteria.
Philanthropy – Chief Powell reported SBMT charitable trust donated $10,000 to us. AFSC sent note thanking us for our support.
Sea Service Veterans Assistance. NTR

· Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported Japanese warship visit Charlie foxtrot; details handled by Japanese embassy. We were not able to have a reception. No ships scheduled for visit now but we are working on Fleet Week for 2018. Coast Guard Birthday tomorrow. October 5^th Sea Cadet 5K run. This is a major fund raiser and need volunteers. Planning trip to SEAL museum 1^st Saturday in November.

· CPO365 – Phase II report: every command doing their own training plan. Dinner at VFW August 29^th 1800. Master Chief Robertson will coordinate with VFW and requested better communications so CPOA membership can select appropriate activities to attend. Reminder that pinning is the 15^th at Southcom, Khaki Ball the 16^th. All commands will send schedules to Senior Chief Roy.

· MWR – Master Chief Robertson Bowling scheduled for August 27^th. Suggestion to have Chiefs versus Selectees. This will be at Manor Lanes at 1400. CPOA will cover cost for selectees if they attend. Could use as potential fundraiser. Cruise possible February 23^rd – 26^th, 2018. Possible FAU/Navy game September 1^st. Need to sign up if interested. Promoters have requested whites.

· VA Emergency Response – Master Chief Robertson discussed the program.

· Awards – NTR

· CRYC – Chief Short reported that Joe Verderber will not be heading this up this year.

Old Business:

· None.

New Business:

· Motion to keep Holiday dinner at Tropical Acres. Duly seconded and approved.

· Chief Washington made motion to donate $200 for USCG MK3 for new baby diapers. Duly seconded. Discussion about use of funds for hardship versus assistance. 30 ayes, 1 nay; motion carried.

Good of the Order:

· Decals available, no cost.
