Pledge of Allegiance, Sailor’s Creed and Moment of Silence.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report:   Chief Roy reported outstanding checks: 912 to DJ for Fleet Week reception $200, 916 to Southcom $630, outstanding deposit of $1,000 from cruise.  Checking balance $13,2583.23 savings $3,175.98, money market $45,618.49; Event $18,400; total $80,452.70.  Motion to accept report.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Committees:

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported All Hands Magazine did story for Fort Lauderdale Lone Sailor statue. Read fact sheet about our events.  USCGC Margaret Nowell (179’) has all female crew.  Not counting spouses, expect about 261 at our reception.  May meeting the 12th.

·       CPO365 All day event March 31st.  Rope  Course at Outdoor World.  Team building event.   NRD has a retirement to support that day. 

·       Awards – NTR

·       CRYC – Master Chief LaCoursiere reported that meeting held to discuss organizing tables, buffet, and gift areas, cigars.  Event starts outside.  One member may fund our part of the reception.  Next meeting April 18th.  Senior Chief Roy will email notes from meeting.

·       T-shirts and new coins – Will vote on new t-shirts at next meeting.  Coins down to 77 from original 200.  Inventory of legacy coins 150.  Order  form for special t-shirts online.  (“I am here to train you so that you can call me Brother.”)

 

Old Business:

·       Chief Short has CPOA shirts.

New Business:

·       Motion to develop window decal/sticker for our cars.  Duly seconded and approved.

·       Chief Perry Edie retiring March 24th.  Southcom at 1400.   Dress Blues.

·       Motion to limit use of our funds in support of command functions.  Discussion.  Each command  must come to a regularly scheduled meeting to  make a request which will then be voted on.  $500 cap per year per command (16 commands in our area).  Duly seconded and approved.

·       Motion by Master Chief LaCoursiere to reimburse cost of  cigars for Fleet Week Reception $1,000. Duly seconded and approved.

·       Motion to assist Marine at NOSC whose  mother has cancer with $1,000.  Chief Sions will  monitor funds.  Duly seconded and approved.

·       Senior Chief Briseño reported on CPO 365.  Putting  together new calendar.

·       Motion  to give Senior Chief Starr up to 10 of the new large coins to distribute to Command Master Chiefs during Fleet Week.  Duly seconded and approved.

·       Motion to order 100 coins before Fleet Week.  Duly seconded and approved.
