 Meeting called to order by Chief Monica Sions: 1936

Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Treasurer’s Report:   Chief Roy reported outstanding checks total $2,730.00.  Fleet Week expenses to date total $13,065.41.  Checking balance $6,160.07 savings $3,177.30, money market $35,656.62; Event $47,310; total $92,305.99.  Motion to accept report.  Duly seconded and approved. 

Committees:

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported only USS New York LPD 21 sent.  Coast Guard sent USCGC Forward WMEC 911, USCGC Margaret Norvell WPC 1105, and USCGC Joshua Appleby (WLM 556).  BND met all commitments.  Recognition for our event.  Because yacht entered turning basin even though admiral at the helm, this may be brought up in after action report.  Wednesday yacht rides started late due to miscommunication. Only had about half the expected number. Seating arrangement on Tuesday went well.  Joe Verderber says he will not do this next year. Not sure if CRYC will be venue again.  Bravo Zulu to Chief Sions for doing great job under stress.  May see 2 Japanese ships arriving in July.

·       CPO365 NA

·       MWR – Master Chief Robertson reported bowling May 21st at manor Lanes at 1400.  Saturday marriage of Chief Sions and Chief Soto in Key West.  Fishing trip tentatively planned for July 22nd.  Navy Academy playing FAU September 1st.  Asked if still interest in October cruise; yes.

·       VA Emergency Response – Master Chief Robertson reported that Chief Powell has already disbursed $400.

·       Awards – NTR

·       CRYC – NA

·       T-shirts and new coins – On hold.

 

Old Business:

·       Decals for CPOA will be 4x4.  Motion to purchase 500 for $320.  Duly seconded and approved

New Business:

·       Suggestion to do annual award for membership attending college to underwrite cost of textbooks. Master Chief Fagenbaum will send copy of Coast Guard guidelines.

·       Chief Powell made motion to donate $1,000 to YNC Ivan Gonzales whose son was diagnosed with MS. Duly seconded and approved.

·       Chief Washington made motion to donate $1,000 to QMC Hurtado who was hit by a car. Duly seconded and approved.  ITC Mike Forjan will be responsible for the use of proceeds.

Good of the Order:

·       Chief Short has business cards for members.

·       Southcom gala support appreciated.

·       Master Chief Robertson noted grooming standards comments heard during reception for members wearing the uniform.

·       May 12th is Military Spouse Appreciation day.

·        Senior Chief Zasloff reported NOSC offering coffee mugs personalized.  Will send information to post on our website.

·        Memorial Day is 2 weeks away.

·        Report on Binnacle list.

 

·        Motion to adjourn:  2039.  Duly seconded and passed.
