Minutes from the Previous Meeting.  Motion to accept minutes as posted.  Duly seconded and approved.  

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Senior Chief Roy reported two outstanding checks.  The Current Checking Account is balance $20, 134.26, Savings Account  $3,1801.30 and $50,806.43 in the Money Market Account for a grand total of $74, 121.99.  Motion to accept report.  Duly seconded and approved.  Note that dues are payable now.

 

Committees:

 

·        Scholarship – NTR.

·       Ship Liaison – Senior Chief Starr reported Fleet Week will take place 30 April-6 May. The Ships assigned will be the USS Kearsarge in addition to two DDGs, one submarine and a Coast Guard Cutter. The Canadian Royal Navy will participate.

 

Senior Chief Starr also invited Joseph Giambore (US Navy Ret) and Herbert Dailey (US Army Ret) to announce the recipients of a Letter of Appreciation from President Barrack Obama in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The proud recipients served our country from 1955 to 1975 and are listed below:

·        CPO365  NRD Miami cordially invited all members to the CPO 365 training to take place on November 3rd at 0900 in Central Park, Plantation.

 

·        MWR – Master Chief Robertson reported the holiday dinner will take place at Tropical Acres Steakhouse on December 9th starting at 1800. The menu and sign up information is displayed in our website. There will be a charge of  $25.00 per person and the uniform will be Summer Whites or appropriate civilian attire. Please see our website for additional information.

The cruise and Key West trip and bowling events were discussed, however, further details are yet to be determined.

·        Old Business:

·       A total of $3,800 were distributed in the form of Publix gift cards to aid service members during the Thanksgiving celebration: The commands listed below received the gift cards to be distributed among the most deserving service members:

·       NRD Miami

·       NOSC Miami

·        West Palm Beach

·        Sea Cadets

New Business:

·       Motion to utilize $1,500 to purchase food and drinks for volunteers working at the NASCAR Race Track fund raiser. Duly seconded and approved. 

·       CPO Pamela Washington proposed a motion to donate $1,000 to aid a Marine Corps Service Member, currently struggling due to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Duly seconded and approved.

·       Decals available, no cost.
