 Meeting called to order by UTCS Ron Zasloff : 1930.

Minutes from the Previous Meeting

Motion made by Robbie Robertson to accept minutes, seconded by Paul.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  

Ron Roy gave Treasurers report.

 

Duly seconded and approved.  Note that dues are payable now.

 

 

 

 

Committees

 

BB&T

Panther Stadium – Mike George reported on fund raiser not meeting minimum amount of help for game days.  Monies earned have been minimum.  About $3,900, less insurance, comes to $3200 that has made so far.12/10, 12/12, 12/16, 12/20. We need more people.  Call those that took training and haven’t shown up.

 

Awards: 

Award presented to Chief Short for outstanding fund raising from 2003 thru 2019.

 

Scholarship

No report.

 

Philanthropy:   

Norm Powell read Thank You card.

Harvey Cohen is in Holy Cross Hospital.

Dave Cohen is ill, mobile, but not well.

 

 

Ship Liaison– Al Starr announcements:   

January 11th – ships

May 4th – 5th – ships to arrive.  USS Fort Lauderdale still under construction.              Delivered before Thanksgiving, note from C.O.

 

CRYC Yacht Club:  

This year’s CPOA reception will be held at the yacht club.  Yacht rides will be on 6 May.

 

Paul reported on meeting with Coral Ridge Yacht Club about reception.  They will be charging members $250.00 a couple cover cost of event.  Yacht rides can’t go in the harbor,

 

 

Sailor 360: 

No report.

 

 

MWR:   

Christmas Party – uniform khakis.  No raffle or gift exchange.  Discussion about lack of response.  Dues paying members/guests only.

 

 

VA Liaison:   $200 was given to a veteran so he could get his medicine that was locked in storage with his personal effects.  An addition request from a veteran who previously received funding from us was denied.  So far 18 requests have been approved.

 

 

Old Business:   

Robbie reported on “name tags” and made a motion to have CPOA. pay for name tags.  2nd by Norm Powell.  One opposed (Paul), passed by show of hands.

Good of the Order:

Paul advised if you want to renew your ID, you have to go online to make an appointment (rapid appointments schedule). If your ID is expired, you will need to bring two forms of ID with you.

 

Norm advised new MWR card for those with VA coverage.

 

Chris – griped about previous meeting and how holiday funds/cards were handled.  It was explained in detail that the cards were never picked up. Motion was made to give to another recipient.

 

Al Starr and the Sea Cadets hosting Pearl Harbor Day ceremony on Sunday 12/8/2019.  Wreaths Across America 12/14/2019.
